Wan-Bissaka, the 26-year-old defender, has officially signed with West Ham United for a reported fee of £15 million, marking the end of his five-year stint at Manchester United. Wan-Bissaka, who played 190 games for the Red Devils since his £50 million move from Crystal Palace in 2019, has committed to a seven-year contract with the Hammers.
Expressing his enthusiasm about the move, Wan-Bissaka shared, “It’s a fantastic feeling to return to London. I grew up here, so I understand the city intimately. Playing in my hometown again is really special to me.”
He added, “I’m eager to step onto the field, meet my new teammates, and begin pushing forward. This team has a strong bond and I can see everyone is determined to succeed together, supporting each other through every challenge.”
Tim Steidten, West Ham’s technical director, praised Wan-Bissaka’s addition, citing his Premier League experience dating back to his debut with Crystal Palace in 2018. “Aaron is precisely the type of player we aim to bring into the club during his peak years,” Steidten commented. “His defensive prowess, especially in one-on-one scenarios, is exceptional. His versatility is an added bonus, and his experience in over 170 Premier League matches will be invaluable to our squad.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea has announced that England international Cole Palmer has extended his contract with the club by two years, securing his place until June 2033. Palmer, who scored 22 goals last season and earned the Premier League’s Young Player of the Year award, expressed his excitement: “Signing this new deal is fantastic. My first season here was incredible, and I aim to continue achieving great things with Chelsea, both personally and in terms of bringing success and trophies to the club.” Palmer’s impressive performances also saw him represent England at Euro 2024, where he scored in the final against Spain.
