CBS Sports – This month, Serie A is making its debut on broadcast television. On Thursday, CBS Sports unveiled its plans for the 2024-25 Serie A season, featuring the league’s inaugural match broadcast on the CBS network.
CBS is set to air the AC Milan-Parma match on Saturday, August 24, at 12:30 p.m. ET, marking the network’s first-ever Serie A broadcast. Over the years, CBS has featured various NWSL and Champions League games.
The scheduling of this match aligns well, as the college football season returns fully the following Saturday, August 31, and the NFL season kicks off on Sunday, September 8. Despite CBS’s traditional 3:30 p.m. ET college football slot, opportunities to broadcast Serie A games this fall will be limited.
In the studio, CBS Sports’ Serie A coverage will retain its familiar format. Poppy Miller will continue as the primary studio host, supported by analysts Matteo Bonetti, Mike Grella, Marco Messina, and rules analyst Christina Unkel.
Matteo Bonetti and play-by-play announcer Chris Wittyngham will call the Milan-Parma match.
The 2024-25 Serie A season kicks off on Saturday, August 17. Fans can stream the full season on Paramount+, with select matches also airing on the CBS broadcast network, CBS Sports Network, and CBS Sports Golazo Network.
After some uncertainty regarding the future of Serie A broadcasting rights, the league renewed its contract with CBS for two more years. Discussions began last fall but encountered delays in the spring, ultimately leading to an agreement in July.
Additionally, CBS secured a four-year deal this summer to broadcast English Football League matches, including the Championship, League One, League Two, and the Carabao Cup, starting with the 2024-25 season. The EFL season kicked off last weekend.
